Blue badge parking
Disabled parking bays are available in all of Gatwick Airport’s car parks, providing hassle-free access to the airport for those with reduced mobility.
Blue Badge holders can benefit from same-level access to Gatwick’s North and South Terminals from our Premium car parks. All car parks and shuttle buses are fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Disabled parking at Gatwick is easy to spot as our Blue Badge parking areas are signposted as you enter the car parks.
Disabled parking at Gatwick terminals
Blue Badge bays are provided in Gatwick’s Long and Short Stay car parks at both the North and South Terminal.
For easy, same-level access to the arrivals area, Blue Badge holders can take advantage of discounted rates on Premium Parking when parking for less than four hours. If parking for longer than four hours, normal charges will apply.
Where are the Blue Badge bays at Gatwick Airport?
There are 32 disabled bays available in our Long Stay North car park, all providing easy access to our bus stops.
The transfer is just a short journey from the terminal. Buses run every 10–15 minutes throughout the day and night.
Our buses are fully equipped for users of wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Short Stay and Premium Parking
The North Terminal’s Premium car park includes 18 Blue Badge bays, within Level 3 of Car Park 5.
There are 22 additional spaces across the other Short Stay North car parks.
The South Terminal’s Long Stay car park holds 27 Blue Badge bays, located near to the transfer bus stops.
Our shuttles run regularly throughout the day and night and provide easy access for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Short Stay and Premium Parking
Disabled passengers flying from Gatwick’s South Terminal will find eight Blue Badge bays in the Premium Parking area on Level 2 of Car Park 3.
There are 55 additional disabled bays across our other Short Stay car parks.
Premium parking for Blue Badge holders
Blue Badge holders picking up another passenger can park in the Premium area for up to four hours for the same price as regular Short Stay. Premium Parking provides same-level access to the terminal.
This will not apply to those that pre-book, so please ensure you advise an operator at the entrance barrier on arrival to benefit from the 25% discount. When you arrive, press the ‘Assistance’ button at the entry barriers. When you leave, simply pay at the customer service office.
If your stay exceeds four hours, you’ll be charged the normal Premium rate. Visit our car park pricing page for more about on-the-day charges.
Assistance getting into the terminal
Gatwick Airport offers free assistance for disabled passengers who require help getting to and from the terminals.
There are help points located in the car parks, as well as outside the terminals, or you can call ahead on 0844 892 0322 to let us know what help you need.
We also recommend our Valet Parking service for those with reduced mobility. Here, you can leave your car with us to park on your behalf, allowing you to head straight into the terminal.
Taking your Blue Badge away with you
If you’re likely to need your Blue Badge whilst travelling, taking it with you isn’t a problem.
Park up as normal and head to the customer service office. They will photocopy your Blue Badge, so you can display this copy in your car, allowing you to take the original away with you.
Picking up a person with reduced mobility
If you’re parked in the Long Stay car park and travelling with someone who has reduced mobility, you can get in to the Short Stay car park for free in order to pick them up more easily.
All you need to do is go to the customer service office by the exit of the Long Stay car park to find out how to get up to an hour’s free parking in the Short Stay while you wait for your companion.
